Job summary

Ideal Option PLLC is seeking a Billing Prior Authorization Specialist to join our billing team. The role focuses on obtaining referrals and authorizations for services, entering patient data, and communicating cost estimates to patients.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of prior authorization experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a typing speed of 60 wpm. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year experience with Prior Authorizations.
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Internet.
• Typing speed of 60 words per minute or more.
• Knowledge of chemical dependency and its effects on individuals, families, and communities.

Responsibilities

• Enters new patients’ and existing patients’ data into the computer.
• Obtains referrals for services.
• Obtains appropriate authorizations for services.
• Gathers medical records to submit to insurance for proper authorization.
• Provides patients with estimated cost for services.
• Finalizes the appropriate data for accounts.
• Maintains tracking of authorization limits.
• Obtains referrals for medical services.
• Infrequent travel by vehicle or airplane.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.
