Job summary

Community Services League of Jackson County seeks a Bilingual Family Stability Coach to support Spanish- and English-speaking families with school-age children facing housing disruption. You will collaborate with local school districts and community partners to wrap around services and promote stability.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, strengths-based coaching and close collaboration with CSL teams. Multilingual applicants are encouraged to apply; typical work hours align with 8am-5pm

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED equivalency and a minimum of two years’ experience in similar field.
• Must be familiar and have experience working in Spanish-speaking immigrant communities.
• Familiarity with Independence and surrounding communities and their resources.
• Must have experience and the capacity to work with neighbors in a wide variety of life circumstances, from a variety of backgrounds, and with a resiliency-minded lens.
• Working knowledge and understanding of trauma informed, mental wellness principles and practices.
• Willingness to learn.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with neighbors to identify short and long-term goals.
• Liaise with school staff and partners to identify families at risk of housing disruption.
• Assist housing stabilization for families with unstable housing factors.
• Use mental wellness tools, resiliency and self-care with families.
• Meet families where they are; maintain ongoing relationships with neighbors.
• Explain CSL services and integrated coaching models to others.
• Identify eligible candidates for the Family Stability Program.
• Attend CSL staff and industry meetings.
• Translate and interpret materials as needed.
