Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs seeks experienced teachers to mentor beginning teachers in a year-long program. Mentors are assigned per semester and must complete WV DOE mentor training.

Preference given to those with the Master Mentor Teacher Advanced Credential and to mentors at the same school handling the same or similar subject/grade level. Earn $300 per mentor per semester; position described as Contract/Hourly Employment.

Qualifications

• Must have or complete mentor course offered through WV State Department of Education before end of mentorship.
• Preference for teachers at same school, teaching the same or similar subject and grade level.
• Master Mentor Teacher Advanced Credential preferred.
• Beginning Teacher Mentorship is a year-long experience, semester-to-semester assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and feedback to support instructional practice.
• Coordinate with school and personnel office for mentorship logistics.
