Job summary

Deep South Today seeks an Audience and Partnerships Editor for the Investigative Center to expand distribution and engagement across the Deep South. You will manage partnerships, coordinate editorial distribution, and align audience insights with newsroom strategy.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multiple partners, data-informed decisions, and a focus on reach, impact, and reader participation across platforms.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of direct experience and is open to working weekends, as required.

Responsibilities

• Co-Publishing & Community Distribution with partners and external newsrooms.
• Identify trusted information stewards and cultivate relationships to maximize distribution.
• Own distribution operations for the Center’s journalism to newsroom partners in a timely manner.
• Serve as editorial curator for the Deep South Today website and ensure aggregation across local sites.
• Ensure stories are SEO optimized, tagged and curated for interests and geographic coverage.
• Develop calls-to-action to drive reader participation and interaction across platforms.
• Coordinate with DST Support team for graphics, technical and audience support.
• Track content performance using Google Analytics and related tools and share audience insights with editors.
