Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking an Academic Instructor to provide foundational education to inmates in a secure facility, teaching mathematics, science, social studies, reading, writing and language arts. The role involves developing level-appropriate lesson plans and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

The instructor will prepare objectives, plan studies, administer tests and assist students with individualized instruction, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Teaching license preferred.
• Must possess or be eligible for certification or credentials.
• Credentials must be maintained as per contract/state.
• Three years of classroom instruction preferred.
• Experience in Microsoft Office applications required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Minimum age 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study, lesson plans, assignments and tests under supervision.
