Job summary

CoreCivic in Nicholls, Georgia, is seeking an Academic Instructor to deliver basic education to inmates in a secure setting. You will cover mathematics, science, social studies, reading, writing and language arts, and develop level-appropriate lesson plans while maintaining a positive, orderly classroom.

Responsibilities include preparing objectives, planning curricula, using outlines and texts, administering tests, and offering individualized instruction as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Teaching license is preferred.
• Must be eligible for certification, license or other credentials required by contract and state of employment.
• Three years of classroom instruction experience is preferred.
• Experience in Microsoft Office applications is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: must be at least 18 years of age.
