Job summary

The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist/Engineer for the Technical Products Research group within Global R&I.

You will help deliver new or improved products by translating consumer beliefs into technical features and claims, guiding innovation across categories. You will work with partners in Advanced Technologies, Formulation, Packaging and Processing to ensure consumer voices inform tech choices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Anthropology Consumer/Sensory Science or other related field.
• Demonstrates Learning Agility, Strives For Excellence & Follow Through, Embraces and Initiates Change, Builds Collaborative Relationships
• High desire to learn, highly motivated
• Understanding of the scientific method/mentality to problem solving. Displayed use of the scientific method, leveraging multiple sources of information, to improve a product, experience, process in a past internship or in undergraduate research
• Previous experience designing, conducting, and analyzing consumer research to uncover and translate consumer beliefs, needs, & desires into critical design features and products.
• Demonstrated interest in understanding consumer/people thoughts, needs, desire and how that impacts their choices, etc. This could look like a capstone like project or other work within or outside curriculum

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical products research projects across upstream unbranded technologies.
• Translate consumer beliefs into design features and core claims for technologies.
• Assist in planning and delivering new products with guidance, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Develop consumer models, performance targets and specifications.
• Support development of consumer research skills and cross-team collaboration.
• Participate in Corporate & Global R&I activities.

Education
