UpMetrics is a remote-friendly product+engineering team building an impact reporting platform. This role designs and implements features end-to-end—from database to UI—using Rails, Vue.js, and TypeScript, while collaborating on scalable system design and deploying via AWS.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer with strong full stack capabilities.
• Proficient with Ruby on Rails or comparable server-side framework; eager to work in Rails if new.
• Proficient with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and Vue.js or comparable framework.
• Relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and document stores (MongoDB); include data modeling.
• Experience with background job processing (Sidekiq or similar).
• Experience with authorization libraries like Pundit, CanCanCan, or equivalent.
• Proficient with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing (RSpec, Jest, Vitest).
• Nice to have: AWS services, Docker, CDK/CloudFormation; familiarity with cloud platforms.
• Familiar with writing well-tested code; TDD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features across the full stack—from database schema to API and UI.
• Build and evolve our Rails API, including background jobs and data models.
• Develop rich, responsive front-end experiences with Vue.js and TypeScript.
• Collaborate on system design to balance speed and long-term scalability.
• Participate in code reviews, provide technical insights, and mentor teammates.
• Work with product management to translate requirements into well-architected solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and deployments on AWS.
