Job summary

Waterloo Community School District is seeking a part-time Special Education para educator/instructional assistant for the fall semester. You will assist a teacher, support students individually or in small groups, and help monitor behaviors and progress under the direction of building administration and the Director of Special Education.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, NCLB/compliance or licensure, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NCLB compliance or district competency test/paraeducator license required.
• Computer/technology training as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing instruction to individuals or small groups.
• Participate in professional development.
• Provide student support based on individual needs.
• Participate in IEP/behavior intervention meetings when applicable.
• Monitor, observe and report progress on student behavior and academics.
• Communicate with teachers regarding programs and materials.
