Job summary

The Institute for the Study of War seeks a full-time, in-person Russia Team Program Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support to its Russia Team. You will manage staffing, onboarding, offboarding, scheduling, and knowledge-management tasks, reporting to the team lead and collaborating across ISW departments.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for Eurasian studies, proficiency in Russian, strong organizational skills, and experience with project-management tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in international relations, history, public or business administration, Eurasian studies, or similar.
  • Professional working proficiency in Russian; knowledge of Ukrainian is a plus.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in an operational role, preferably at a nonprofit.
  • Demonstrated interest in project management and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Systematic thinking with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience with task-management and database programs; ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Passion for ISW's research agenda and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Advance mission-critical priorities and projects with team leadership; provide managerial, personnel, and logistical support.
  • Track tasks from meetings and timelines; ensure compliance with SOPs for operations.
  • Support IT and cybersecurity education policies; develop SOPs and workflows with leadership.
  • Coordinate collaboration between Russia and Geospatial Intelligence programs and ISW teams.
  • Manage staffing, PTO, hiring processes, onboarding/offboarding plans with HR; maintain hiring dashboards.
  • Coordinate intern hiring, onboarding/offboarding, and workload communication with leadership.
