Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is hiring for a position that focuses on offender supervision and public safety. The role involves investigating offenders’ home, work, and social environments, counseling on personal and adjustment issues, and coordinating with public and private agencies to support rehabilitation and community safety.

Qualified candidates will have several years of experience in probation, parole, or related fields and must hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of Probation & Parole Assistant or related experience.
• Four or more years of vocational or paraprofessional experience in social services, probation and parole, corrections casework/custody, or related fields.
• Possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.

Responsibilities

• Investigates offender's home/work/social environments; collects data and prepares reports for authorities.
• Contacts offenders in homes, workplaces or confinement and counsels on personal/adjustment issues.
• Assists in vocational/educational/social adjustment planning and coordinates with agencies and law enforcement.
• Prepares statistical reports, administers tests, and participates in investigations and committees.
• Maintains safety training and re-qualification requirements.
