Job summary

GECS seeks a Middle School Teacher for grades 5–8. You will oversee student behavior and academics within the Academy, coordinating with departments to ensure a safe and structured learning environment.

You will manage your classroom and report student progress and recommendations to the Dean of Academics as required. You will implement the Academy’s curriculum and philosophy, plan lessons, monitor progress, and maintain professional relationships with staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Certificated teachers per state board rule.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Two letters of recommendation required.
• Satisfactory performance ratings in delivery of instruction and classroom management.
• Criminal records clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare students to meet academic testing requirements and achieve academic growth.
• Facilitate and communicate knowledge and strategies for learning to students.
• Monitor academic progress of the class and individuals.
• Plan objectives, instruction, and practice work to maximize learning.
• Apply classroom rules consistently and maintain a positive school culture.
• Motivate students and communicate expectations clearly.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, administration and staff.
• Report to the Dean of Academics regarding student performance and actions taken.
