Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Baltimore Foundation is seeking a Grant Writer to develop and manage grant proposals and reporting to support the Foundation's priorities. You will collaborate with program leaders, translate program outcomes into persuasive narratives, and manage Raiser's Edge and other donor systems to ensure timely submission and compliance.

This role requires 5–7 years of grant writing experience, a bachelor’s degree, and strong writing, editing, and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5-7 years of grant writing and coordination
• Experience identifying diverse funders and securing funding
• Competent in preparing budgets, reports and supporting materials
• Ability to manage multiple grant projects and deadlines
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills
• Translate program outcomes into compelling funding narratives
• Knowledge of prospect research tools and funding opportunities
• Understanding of grant compliance and reporting requirements
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate across departments and stakeholders
• Analytical and critical-thinking skills, strong communication
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
• Experience with Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, Asana or similar systems

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and submit grant proposals, LOIs, applications, and funding communications
• Partner with program leaders to identify funding priorities and strengthen initiatives
• Translate program data into persuasive narratives demonstrating need and impact
• Collaborate with internal partners to define goals and measurable outcomes
• Develop compelling funding narratives integrating community needs and outcomes
• Manage the full grant development process from research to submission
• Coordinate proposal timelines and gather information from multiple stakeholders
• Maintain grant records and reporting schedules in donor systems
• Coordinate proposal launches and kickoff meetings with internal teams
• Provide grant-writing guidance for fundraising initiatives
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
