Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Foundation Grant Development Manager to lead proposal efforts for foundation, corporate, and government sources. You will research, write, edit and submit grant applications while cultivating funder relationships and coordinating with internal teams.

You will partner with program staff to monitor expenditures and reporting outcomes, ensuring proposals align with Mercy mission and standards. Strong writing, project management, and communication skills are essential.

The Foundation Grant Development Manager is responsible for conducting all activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to foundation, corporate and government sources to support Mercy programs. This includes researching, compiling, writing and editing grant applications, as well as developing relationships with funders and internal stakeholders to further grant efforts across the Mercy ministry. This position will work closely with internal project managers to monitor funding expenditures and outcome reporting and act as liaison with program staff and funding agencies. The Foundation Grant Development Manager performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in related field.

Experience

• Minimum three years' experience with grant writing and demonstrated track record in writing persuasive, clear and concise proposals.

Successful Candidates in this Role will Possess These Skills/Qualities:

• Demonstrated experience developing, writing, coordinating, and submitting complex federal, state, and county government grant applications.
• Strong understanding of government funding requirements, proposal development, budgets, submission processes, and grant application portals.
• Experience coordinating government grant proposals involving multiple stakeholders, departments, and subject matter experts.
• Ability to research and evaluate grant opportunities and work with clinical and operational stakeholders to develop competitive project concepts aligned with grant requirements.

• Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
