Job summary

Foster America is seeking a Development & Communications Manager to lead fundraising storytelling, grant writing, and donor relations. You will report to the Founder and Executive Director and help develop annual and three-year development plans that scale our fellowship model and partnerships.

Based in San Francisco, CA or Boston, MA, this full-time role requires 3+ years of fundraising experience with foundations and individuals, plus strong writing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience in fundraising or development.
• Experience crafting and editing development materials.
• Ability to manage multiple partnerships with foundations and individual donors.
• Comfort with a fast-paced, virtual work environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspire funders with a shared vision for talent-led child welfare reform.
• Develop and implement annual and 3-year development plans with diverse strategies.
• Lead research to identify new institutional and individual funding sources.
• Draft and coordinate content for grants, reporting, and foundation relations.
• Organize fundraising events and generate compelling development copy.
• Manage donor and prospect data in Salesforce and ensure timely acknowledgments.
• Collaborate on external messaging and expand Foster America's brand.
• Maintain and update website content and digital communications.
