Job summary

McCormick YMCA seeks an Executive Director to lead a community hub, translating community needs into strategy and high‑quality programs. You will oversee daily hub operations, staff leadership, and financial performance while guiding partnerships to maximize local impact.

The role requires 5–7 years of leadership in community settings, bilingual English/Spanish, and a track record in engagement, governance, and program development.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in a multi-program or community-based setting.
• Proven success in financial management, staff development, and community engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to translate community insight into strategy and program development.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to inspire and align diverse teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with YMCA systems (e.g., Daxko, T-Rec) preferred. Ability to adapt to new technology.
• Meets physical qualifications required as outlined in job description. The YMCA will provide reasonable accommodation(s) for persons with disabilities.
• Willingness and ability to complete all mandatory YMCA training and certifications, along with ongoing or additional training as assigned by the supervisor, within established timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the YMCA Community Hub to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Facilitate weekly site meetings to align priorities for member experience and engagement.
• Coordinate cross-functional support for enrollment, scheduling, and service delivery.
• Monitor operational KPIs and performance metrics; address gaps promptly.
• Identify operational issues early and implement proactive measures to prevent disruption.
• Provide daily leadership and feedback to hub staff, fostering accountability and teamwork.
• Partner with program leaders to ensure consistent standards, training, and quality.
• Manage the hub’s P&L and drive sustainable financial performance; support fundraising and grants.
• Oversee member experiences to reflect community needs and YMCA mission.
• Build partnerships with local organizations and schools to deepen impact.
• Approve program scheduling and space allocation to optimize experience.
• Support safety, standards, certifications, and curriculum with program directors.
