Job summary

The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) is seeking a Development Manager to support fundraising for NYLCV and NYLCV Education Fund. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, you will help expand the foundation grant program, manage corporate partnerships, and grow mid/major gifts to sustain our climate, health, and open-space initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with a minimum of 3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, and CRM.
  • Skilled communicator: excellent writer, active listener, and articulate speaker.
  • Team player with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Ability and willingness to work some evenings.
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Foundation Stewardship: Write letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and program concepts for funders.
  • Lead grant submissions, attaching documents and coordinating with staff to align proposals with priorities.
  • Build relationships with foundations through outreach, meetings, and funders briefings.
  • Keep organized files and folders for all submissions and deadlines.
  • Manage an organized calendar of proposals and reports.
  • Conduct extensive prospect research for foundations and corporate giving programs.
  • Corporate Partners: Assist with corporate partner program and Eco-Breakfast events.
  • Research and outreach to prospective corporate partners and sponsorships.
  • Work with staff to identify and cultivate sponsorships for events and forums.
  • Mid and Major Gifts: Assist moves management and donor tracking; identify prospective donors.
  • Communications: Draft fundraising emails, mid-year mailers, and newsletters.
