Job summary

NAACP's Office of the General Counsel is seeking an externally funded Civil Rights Litigation Fellow to join the Legal Department in Washington, DC. This year-long fellowship focuses on impactful affirmative civil rights litigation across voting rights, criminal justice, economic justice, housing, education, and employment.

The fellow must secure outside funding to cover salary and benefits; JD from an accredited law school and a demonstrated commitment to racial justice are required.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Recent graduate with commitment to racial justice.
• Strong written, verbal, research, and analytical skills.
• Willingness to develop affirmative civil rights litigation and build factual records.

Responsibilities

• Engage in affirmative civil rights litigation across voting rights, criminal justice, economic justice, employment, housing, and education.
• Collaborate with the Legal Department and NAACP network to advance civil rights advocacy.
• Develop theories and build factual records to support litigation efforts.
