Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington is seeking a Data Analyst to transform data into actionable insights across programs, engagement, and organizational strategy on our Impact Team. The role requires clear communication with technical and non‑technical audiences and a commitment to data‑driven decision making in a Jewish nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in data science, statistics, or a related field.
• Experience in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).
• Experience with databases or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, validate, and maintain data from multiple sources (surveys, CRM, program databases, spreadsheets, external sources).
• Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations for diverse audiences (staff, leadership, funders, board).
• Translate findings into accessible narratives connecting data to mission and strategy.
• Partner with colleagues to translate business questions into analytical approaches.
• Present insights through reports, slide decks, and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to improve data systems, workflows, and reporting.
