Job summary

Solar One seeks a Communications Manager to advance its visibility as a premier NYC environmental nonprofit and engage new audiences. The role oversees strategy, content creation, and cross-channel campaigns across web, social, print, and events.

The position is full-time, exempt, with a pay range of $72,000–$78,000 per year based on experience, plus health, PTO, and retirement benefits. Solar One champions diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in its work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications/marketing with 3–5 years of experience.
• Experience in video editing and photo quality management.
• Fluent in social media management, analytics, and campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Solar One's communications strategy and timelines.
• Produce video, photography, graphics, and messaging with external consultants.
• Lead cross-channel initiatives across website and social media with the Chief External Affairs Officer.
• Collaborate on marketing content across print, digital, social, and radio.
• Plan quarterly communication schedules supporting key programs.
• Manage Solar One's brand awareness and branding standards.
• Prepare materials including the Annual Report and program presentations.
• Coordinate organic outreach and advertising to support conversion goals.
• Support monthly newsletter graphics, images, and content review.
