Job summary

Solar One in New York City seeks a Communications Manager to elevate visibility for its environmental education programs and engage diverse audiences. This full-time hybrid role reports to the Chief External Affairs Officer and collaborates with program teams on video, photography, graphics, and messaging.

You will manage branding, events, newsletters, website and social channels, and drive audience growth with strong leadership and content creation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3–5 years in communications/marketing.
• Experience in video editing and photo quality management.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication across in-person, email, phone, and video.
• Creative problem-solving and storytelling abilities.
• Fluency in social media management, analytics, campaigns.
• Experience with WordPress is required.
• Advanced MS Office, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other design tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing Solar One's communications strategy.
• Coordinate and produce video, photography, graphics, visuals, and messaging with external consultants.
• Lead external cross-channel campaigns, e.g., website and social media, with the Chief External Affairs Officer.
• Collaborate on marketing content across print, digital, social, and radio/audio.
• Plan quarterly communications schedule supporting key programs and Solar One overall.
• Manage brand awareness and adherence to branding strategy.
• Plan and implement events with collateral meeting branding standards.
• Prepare materials like Annual Report and program presentations.
• Coordinate organic outreach and advertising to support conversion goals.
• Support monthly newsletter graphics and content review.
