Job summary

BlueLabs in Washington, DC area is seeking a Data Scientist to apply statistics, programming, and domain knowledge to solve client challenges. You will design analytics, build predictive models, and create data visualizations in a fast-paced production environment.

You will collaborate with engineers, program managers, and stakeholders, delivering high-quality analytics on tight timelines while mentoring junior team members and documenting processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years working in a quantitative production environment or a postgraduate degree in a quantitative field.
• Experience with statistics foundations and modeling concepts (distributions, estimation, confidence intervals).
• Strong knowledge of a statistical programming language such as R or Python.
• Expertise building predictive models using regression and machine learning techniques.
• Ability to manipulate data with SQL and create analytics output in a production setting.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of experimental design and causal inference.
• Experience delivering informative data visualizations using industry tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute on the design, implementation, and delivery of analytics products and services.
• Build predictive models, tools, and data visualizations.
• Ensure data and modeling results meet quality requirements and work with the team to clean, transform, and report on data.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, program managers and external stakeholders to troubleshoot problems and create solutions.
• Assist on research development projects and data science project plans for clients and internal initiatives.
• Document processes and evangelize new approaches to support team excellence.
• Work as part of a team to deliver accurate products on short deadlines.
