Help UDRI and the Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office measure, communicate, and amplify the mission impact of sustainment initiatives that support Air Force readiness. We invite qualified applicants to apply for our Impact Analyst opening today!

The Impact Analyst works alongside the Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO) to identify, measure, and communicate the value, outcomes, and mission impact of RSO programs, directly supporting the RSO Communications Plan's goal of promoting understanding of the value and impact of RSO initiatives on Air Force readiness and sustainment. Embedded with the RSO team, the Impact Analyst participates in day-to-day program meetings to understand ongoing work, priorities, and target audiences, and works with RSO leadership to focus analysis on the most important messages and stakeholder needs. The position gathers, compiles, and validates the data and metrics that substantiate RSO messaging—collaborating with RSO program managers, subject matter experts, and UDRI's cost analysis and metrics team—and develops and maintains impact-tracking methods that measure outcomes and adoption over time. From these findings, the Impact Analyst translates activities and results into clear, evidence-based impact statements, value narratives, vignettes, and success stories, drafting accurate, audience-ready content and partnering with the strategic communications team and content writer to finalize and polish it for publication, consistent with the RSO Brand Guide and key messages. The position also develops and streamlines internal processes and standards for impact analysis, measurement, and reporting, and may support additional UDRI customers and initiatives as needed. Co-located with the customer at the Hangar 01 facility, this is an outward, communication-facing analytical role focused on framing mission value rather than producing cost models or system-of-record financial reporting. This position will travel between UDRI locations, base, and other mission locations to support communications work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business analytics, data analytics, communications, marketing, economics, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis, metrics/measurement, or program analysis, including translating results into written findings or reports
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and interpret performance metrics and outcomes to determine value and mission impact
  • Demonstrated ability to independently translate quantitative and qualitative information into clear, well-structured written drafts—including impact statements, value narratives, vignettes, and success stories—developed to a near-final, ready-to-edit stage
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to produce accurate, on-message content with minimal drafting support from others
  • Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Availability to travel between UDRI locations, base, and other mission locations to support communications work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

  • 5 or more years of experience in analysis, metrics, or impact/outcome reporting
  • Demonstrated experience developing impact statements, value narratives, vignettes, success stories/case studies, or return-on-investment summaries
  • Demonstrated experience drafting communications products (e.g., articles, briefings, one-pagers, reports) to a publication‑ready or near‑publication‑ready standard
  • Experience establishing measurement/evaluation approaches or reporting processes and standards (e.g., KPIs, dashboards, or a recurring reporting cadence)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data visualization or analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel dashboards)
  • Experience working with technical subject matter experts to gather and interpret program information
  • Working knowledge of US Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Sustainment Center, and Air Logistics Complexes
  • Familiarity with US military offices and acronyms
  • Familiarity with strategic communications, marketing, or stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with SharePoint
  • Knowledge of UDRI and UDRI systems
