Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to support the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases and Host Defense in the Department of Pediatrics at USUHS, Bethesda, MD.

The role focuses on respiratory mucosal immunity against RSV, influenza, SARS-CoV-2, and emerging pathogens, using mouse models and human systems with flow cytometry and sequencing technologies.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in immunology, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 0-5 years experience required.
• Experience in innate/adaptive immune analyses and infectious diseases.</br>Analyses of single cell sequencing data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs and designs original laboratory research projects aligned with the lab's mission.
• Prepares technical reports, summaries, and protocols.
• Formulates hypotheses and designs experimental protocols.
• Plans and conducts investigations under the head of the laboratory.
• Maintains accurate lab records and databases.
• Presents findings in oral and written formats and assists with grants.
