Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in the field of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology. The role involves scientific exchange, research collaboration, and congress support to advance company scientific objectives.

The candidate will liaise between the scientific community and Merck to enhance understanding of scientific goals for approved and in-development trials, while adhering to GMSA SOPs and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Three years of immunology (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) experience beyond the terminal degree.
• Principled verbal and written communications.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong focus on scientific education and dialogue.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking skills.
• Thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develops professional relationships with national and regional SLs for access to approved scientific information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and maintains a presence with SLs.
• Addresses scientific questions outside of scope to appropriate resources.
• Maintains current knowledge of the dynamic scientific environment in the AOI.
