Allen Institute in Seattle seeks a Scientific Communications & Engagement Partner to translate complex immunology into clear, impactful communications. You will shape external voice, storytelling, and tooling for datasets, collaborating with scientific leadership and Communications to broaden reach.

The role emphasizes publishing drawings, figures, and educational materials, plus coordinating seminars and onboarding programs for team members and external audiences.

Qualifications

• PhD in life sciences (immunology/neuroimmunology) or equivalent background.
• 5+ years translating complex science into clear communication for diverse audiences.
• Strong visual storytelling: slides, figures, and diagrams.
• Experience managing scientific content for social media or digital channels.
• Excellent writing across formats, from manuscripts to public-facing summaries.
• Ability to collaborate with scientific leadership, communications teams, and external partners.
• Portfolio of scientific communication work with examples.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Immunology's external voice on relevant scientific news and developments.
• Create and manage social media content to promote discoveries and ongoing Institute activities.
• Support external website updates relevant to Immunology with Communications.
• Develop figures, diagrams, and graphical summaries to communicate science clearly.
• Assist with manuscript figures and graphical abstracts to improve clarity and storytelling.
• Develop guides, tutorials, and documentation for Immunology datasets and tools.
• Engage the broader immunology community to widen reach and adoption.
• Coordinate seminars, invited speakers, and onboarding programming.
