Job summary

Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research is seeking a Development Associate II to join the Vaccine, Immunity and Cancer Directorate at Frederick, MD. The role focuses on developing, optimizing, and validating immune and molecular assays in a state-of-the-art lab, contributing to translational cancer vaccine research.

The position emphasizes independent design of experiments, handling complex data with tools like R and Python, and ensuring GCLP compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular biology or related field; CHEA accreditation or 6 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a GCLP Clinical Immunology Lab or related Biotech/Pharma setting.
• Experience in ELISA, viral neutralization assays and mammalian cell culture.
• Experience in development, qualification & validation of immune and molecular biology assays.
• Experience in GCLP/GxP environments, familiar with LIMS, good documentation practices, SOP writing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask; works independently.
• Proficiency with Softmax, Excel, PowerPoint, R Script, Python; data analysis.
• Security clearance ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, qualify/validate, and implement novel immune, cell-based, and molecular assays.
• Design and execute experiments for advanced assay platforms including ELISA, neutralization and flow-based assays.
• Carry out QC/QA procedures and manage inventory for studies.
• Prepare manuscripts, reports and scientific presentations.
• Ensure compliance with internal requirements such as GCLP and quality systems.
• Evaluate, analyze, and present data at meetings.
• Write SOPs and protocols for publications.
• Collaborate with manager and cross-functional teams to advance translational research.
