Job summary

Labcorp in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Technologist to perform routine and complex laboratory testing and ensure accurate, timely results for patient care. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science and at least one year of clinical lab experience.

Responsibilities include specimen acceptability, instrument maintenance, reagent evaluation, and adherence to SOPs. Flexibility for shift differential and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
