Job summary

Meso Scale Diagnostics LLC in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a laboratory technician to support research and product development by performing experiments, testing immunoassays, and maintaining instruments. The role requires weekend work (Saturday or Sunday) and adherence to safety SOPs.

You will process samples, test components for immunoassay kits at pilot scale, train new staff, and perform routine maintenance to ensure data quality and compliance in a dynamic lab environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in scientific field or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Two years' experience in a laboratory setting, preferably with immunoassays.
• Experience with Biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) is required.

Responsibilities

• Execute experiments independently using established protocols (immunoassay kit component testing and qualification testing).
• Process samples and test using established and newly developed assays.
• Test to optimize product performance with complex layouts and procedures.
• Prepare and test components for immunoassay kits at pilot scale.
• Train new employees on assay procedures, analysis software, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and manage supplies/waste.
• Qualify laboratory equipment and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment, scheduling major repairs.
• Comply with safety regulations, SOPs, and good laboratory practices.
