Job summary

Amarillo Public Health is seeking a Public Health Technician (Immunizations) to support the Immunization Program under the direct supervision of the Immunization Program Manager. The role focuses on administrative and clinical tasks within the Immunization Clinic and maintaining program files and databases.

You will need strong customer service, data entry into the EMR, and the ability to learn vaccine schedules while communicating with a diverse population.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Reception experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients at the front desk and assist with their needs.
• Provide excellent customer service in the public health clinic.
• Screen patients for program eligibility.
• Register patients into the EMR and order labs/vaccines as needed.
• Ensure paperwork is complete and data entered accurately.
• Screen immunization records to determine vaccine needs.
• Provide administrative support and cross-coverage as needed.
• Attend team and department meetings and trainings.
