Job summary

JCFS Chicago is seeking a part-time outreach-focused role to promote HIAS Citizenship & Immigration services within diverse Chicago communities. The position entails coordinating citizenship programs, scheduling classes, and facilitating partnerships with immigrant-serving providers and community organizations.

The role requires cross-cultural experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel across the Chicagoland area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
• Cross-cultural experience / working with refugee and immigrant clients preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders across multiple program areas.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/evenings when necessary.
• Knowledge of Chicagoland's immigration services community preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Fluency in English and at least one additional language preferred.
• Valid Illinois driver's license and reliable vehicle; ability to travel throughout Chicagoland.

Responsibilities

• Engages in outreach activities to promote HIAS Citizenship & Immigration services.
• Facilitates relationships between HIAS Citizenship & Immigration and other providers and organizations.
• Coordinates citizenship preparation programs, scheduling, referrals and materials.
• Gives presentations on immigration and citizenship topics to diverse audiences.
• Coordinates volunteer efforts with training for citizenship-related tasks.
• Represents JCFS Chicago and HIAS Citizenship & Immigration at meetings and events.
• Collects data and produces statistics documenting service volume.
• Attends staff and program meetings; collaborates to strengthen the HIAS program and JCFS Chicago.
• Represents JCFS and its programs positively to internal and external contacts.
• Remains current in United States immigration policy and procedures.
