Erie Neighborhood House is seeking a full-time Citizenship Class Specialist to develop curricula and teach English for the U.S. naturalization process at the Little Village/West Town sites in Chicago, IL.

The role includes significant instructional and administrative responsibilities, with opportunities for professional growth and community impact. You will work with adult learners, administer standardized tests, and coordinate class resources and schedules while supporting diverse immigrant

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required; two years ESL experience preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse adult learners and collaborate with staff and volunteers.
• Bilingual Spanish and English preferred; strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Recruit and register students for Citizenship classes and manage student files.
• Administer pre- and post-tests and track progress.
• Provide English instruction to develop oral and literacy skills for the citizenship exam.
• Develop curricula, lesson plans, and classroom materials.
• Conduct outreach and coordinate classes on/off-site.
• Maintain attendance records and manage waitlists.
