Job summary

Lutheran Community Services NW in Washington state seeks an immigration attorney to provide direct legal representation to low-income and culturally diverse immigrants pursuing immigration relief with USCIS. You will represent clients before the Immigration Court and USCIS, develop and litigate cases, conduct legal research, stay updated on immigration policies, and support colleagues on asylum matters.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience in Immigration Law
• Juris Doctor degree and US state bar admission in good standing
• Credentials may be required depending on program/location
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written
• Proficient with MS Office or equivalent productivity suites
• Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment
• Comfortable working in in-person and technology-enabled environments

Responsibilities

• Provide direct representation to clients before the Immigration Court and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
• Develop and litigate cases, including legal research and developing case strategy
• Maintain a working knowledge of significant policies, laws, and trends in immigration law
• Provide case support to other staff members on asylum and related matters
• Perform related administrative tasks, such as case tracking and management
• Participate in LCSNW’s outreach and development efforts
