Job summary

Chavez & Valko LLP, a full-service immigration law firm recognized in Best Law Firms, seeks an Immigration Attorney to join our Dallas and Fort Worth offices. The role focuses on immigration litigation and family-based matters, including removal defense before EOIR, federal court litigation, BIA and circuit court appeals.

Based in either Dallas or Fort Worth, you will consult with clients, draft pleadings, prepare declarations, and represent clients at hearings and interviews.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of immigration law practice.
  • Substantive experience with removal defense/federal litigation, plus adjustment of status, waivers, and consular processing
  • Admission and good standing in any U.S. state bar
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical reasoning, and case management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines in a high-volume practice
  • Spanish fluency (written and spoken)
  • Law review, law journal, or immigration clinic experience
  • Prior EOIR or federal court appearances

Chavez & Valko LLP, a full-service immigration law firm recognized in the 2025 and 2026 editions of Best Law Firms® in the United States, is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join our Dallas and Fort Worth offices. Our diverse team handles a broad range of immigration matters, from routine filings to complex litigation, with an unwavering focus on client outcomes.

The Role

The attorney will primarily handle immigration litigation and family-based immigration matters. Litigation work includes removal defense before EOIR, federal court litigation, including mandamus and APA actions, and BIA and circuit court appeals.

Location: Based in either our Dallas or Fort Worth office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Consulting with clients and conducting case assessments
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and appeals
  • Preparing support letters, declarations, and immigration forms

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary: $90,000 – $130,000+, commensurate with experience, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus
  • Bonuses: Annual performance bonus and client referral bonuses
  • Time off: PTO plus federal holidays, with flex-time scheduling (Full-time employees receive ten (10) days of paid time off during the first year of employment. Thereafter, PTO is awarded according to the following schedule:
  • Months of employment - PTO Days
  • 0-12 months - Ten (10)
  • 13-24 months - Fourteen (14)
  • 61-84 months - Twenty-two (22)
  • 85-108 months - Twenty-three (23)
  • 109-120 months - Twenty-four (24)
  • 121+ months (10+ yrs) - Twenty-five (25)
  • For licensed attorneys, PTO eligibility is based on the date of first licensure rather than the date employment begins with the Firm.
