Job summary

The Law Offices of Roderick C. White is seeking a knowledgeable Immigration Attorney to join our Chicago-based team and guide clients through family-based petitions, removal defense, and naturalization.

You will manage a diverse caseload and provide clear, compassionate legal guidance to individuals and families navigating complex immigration processes. Ideal candidates possess a JD, IL license, 1–3 years of immigration experience, and strong research, writing, and advocacy skills; bilingual

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing in IL (MO, KS, TX a plus).
  • 1-3 years of experience in immigration law strongly preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills; excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume and diverse caseload independently.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) a strong plus.
  • Commitment to client advocacy and ethical legal practice.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in immigration matters, including family-based petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, asylum, and removal/deportation defense.
  • Draft and file petitions, applications, briefs, and supporting documentation with USCIS, EOIR, and other relevant agencies.
  • Conduct client consultations, evaluate cases, and advise clients on available immigration options and strategy.
  • Develop case strategies through legal research and investigation of client circumstances.
  • Represent clients at immigration court hearings, USCIS interviews, and administrative proceedings.
  • Maintain strong client communication and manage expectations throughout often lengthy processes.
  • Stay current on evolving immigration law, policy, and agency procedures.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, assistants, and fellow attorneys to ensure effective case management.

Schedule
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday
  • No weekends (on-call availability applies to speak with potential clients applies)

Compensation: $85,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
