Job summary

Davidson & Seseri, LLC, a Chicago-based boutique immigration law firm, seeks a bilingual English/Spanish immigration associate attorney with at least 3 years of experience to manage a full caseload of family and employment-based matters, from intake to hearings.

The ideal candidate can work independently, think strategically, and communicate proactively while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Candidates must be licensed in the U.S. and proficient in Spanish.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction (Illinois preferred).
  • Proficiency in Spanish (required) and other foreign languages.
  • Excellent English and Spanish written and oral communication.
  • Prior experience in immigration law.
  • Demonstrated experience in litigation and representing clients at interviews (preferred).
  • Sharp analytical thinking and creative approaches to cases.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Efficient time management.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases with deadlines and remain flexible.

Responsibilities

  • Assess viability of new matters.
  • Communicate with clients regularly regarding case developments.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Draft filings.
  • Review documentation in lieu of or prior to more senior attorneys.

Job description

We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) immigration associate attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join a dynamic practice. The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently, think strategically, communicate proactively (internally and externally) and maintain professionalism under pressure.

Reporting to the firm partners and supported by a team of paralegals, this associate attorney will swiftly acquire oversight and management (from start to finish) of a full case load of family and employment-based matters, including but not limited to family and employment petitions, naturalization, removal proceedings, asylum, waivers, consular processing, DACA, VAWA, U Visas, religious petitions. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessing viability of new matters
  • Communicating with clients regularly regarding case developments
  • Conducting legal research
  • Drafting filings
  • Reviewing documentation in lieu of or prior to more senior attorneys
  • Preparing clients for and representing them at hearings and interviews
  • Maintaining accurate and reliable case notes, deadlines, billing entries and other case records within the firm’s case management systems
  • Working collaboratively with paralegals, support staff, peers and leadership to advance cases efficiently

Client understanding and satisfaction are a fixed priority, and the associate attorney’s commitment to excellence in customer service must reflect these values.

  • $75,000 – $110,000 (depending on experience)
