Job Overview:
A well-established, mission-driven immigration law firm is seeking a Bilingual Associate Attorney to join its legal team. This fully remote role focuses on serving immigrant communities across the United States, particularly through humanitarian-based immigration cases such as VAWA, U-Visa, T-Visa, and SIJS. The ideal candidate is a fluent Spanish speaker with at least two years of experience in immigration law, a passion for advocacy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services to underserved populations.
Location:
Duties:
Manage a caseload of immigration matters, primarily VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, and SIJS cases
Conduct client consultations and maintain communication throughout representation
Draft and file petitions, affidavits, legal briefs, and other immigration filings
Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
Collaborate with legal staff and intake team to evaluate new case opportunities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration policies and humanitarian relief updates
Utilize legal technology and case management systems for efficient case tracking
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an immigration attorney handling humanitarian-based cases
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work independently and within a remote, collaborative team structure
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state or jurisdiction
New Jersey Bar membership is a plus but not required
Skills:
Excellent legal research and writing abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English
Familiarity with immigration case management software and productivity platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Monday.com, Excel)
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Adaptable to new systems, procedures, and changing immigration laws
Strong sense of empathy, cultural competence, and commitment to immigrant advocacy
