Job summary

Windham School District Alamo Star Region in Beeville, Texas seeks a Substitute Teacher to preserve the normal classroom routine and follow the lesson plans left by the teacher of record. Starting date is Immediate, and this position is Non-Exempt with contract hourly pay.

Locations include Briscoe Unit - Dilley, Lopez Unit - Edinburg, Cotulla Unit - Cotulla and other units across Texas. Teaching or substitute teaching experience is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 15 college credits from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Elementary or Secondary teaching certification in a foundation subject area highly preferred.
• Teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students.
• Perform absent teacher’s class plan.
• Maintain the established routines and procedures of the campus and classroom.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.
• Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at location of work assignment.
• Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
• Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
