The IDEAL School of Manhattan is seeking a Lower School Substitute Teacher to provide instructional continuity across Grades K–5. This 10-month, full-time exempt role covers when teachers are absent and supports differentiated instruction.

Based at 5 Hanover Square, NY, the position reports to the Lower School Head with a competitive salary and benefits. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in education and have classroom management skills.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in General Education or similar field.
• Experience leading whole class instruction.
• Master’s Degree in Education or similar field.
• Prior experience in an independent school.
• Minimum of three years of relevant school-based experience.
• Commitment to inclusive education and ability to inspire, nurture, and challenge students.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster an inclusive environment.
• Growth mindset and collaborative, flexible spirit.
• Willingness to ensure students are nurtured, challenged, and inspired.

Responsabilidades

• Assume instructional and supervisory responsibility for a classroom during a teacher's absence.
• Deliver prepared curricula, assignments, and activities with high fidelity.
• Adapt to established behavior management systems and routines.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support lesson delivery and student engagement.
• Assist grade-level teams with preparing learning materials and setting up stations.
• Execute duties during non-instructional blocks and transitions.
• Monitor student accommodations and interventions across cohorts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
