Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Intermediate Care Unit weekends at West Allis Medical Center, Wisconsin. The role targets moderately stable patients with higher risk of decompensation, with 12-hour shifts and a weekend program plus shift premiums.

You’ll participate in orientation, triage, labs and pathophysiology concepts, and coordinate comprehensive patient care within a supportive, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

• Build foundational skills through preceptor-guided orientation.
• Triaging, lab interpretation, pathophysiology, pharmacology, time management, and communication for intermediate acuity patients.
• Coordinate care using the nursing process to deliver safe, evidence-based care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient outcomes.
• Provide continuity of care on 12-hour shifts with patient-centered, team-based support.
• Contribute to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare to diverse patients.
