Job summary

Johnston-Willis Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring an Intermediate Care RN. The role focuses on coordinating and delivering high-quality patient-centered care in the critical care step-down unit for adult and geriatric patients, with telemetry needs and post-operative care.

The RN works within a multidisciplinary team to develop care plans, monitor conditions, educate patients and families, and ensure safe discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Virginia RN license or Multistate Compact license.
• 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Current BLS/BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care and participate in patient and family education.
• Monitor heart rhythms on the critical care stepdown unit and titrate drips as prescribed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor and communicate patient conditions.
