Job summary

University Hospital in Newark is seeking a Multi-Competent Imaging Technologist to provide Radiology services, including x-ray, MRI, and CT, for inpatients and outpatients. You will perform radiographic procedures, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to deliver high-quality imaging and patient care.

The ideal candidate has an NJ DEP Radiography license and ARRT certification, with 2 years of radiology experience and proficiency in RIS/PACS systems.

Qualifications

• Requires NJ Department of Environmental Protection Diagnostic Radiography license and ARRT certification.
• If ARRT eligible, must attain certification within 1 year of employment.
• Two years of Diagnostic Radiology experience required.
• Computer literacy.
• Maintain BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Must pass medical evaluation and respirator fit test; wear N95 respirator per PEOSHA.
• Annual respirator fit testing.
• Must be certified in MRI; CT; Angiography services.

Responsibilities

• Explain the exam to patients per age-specific needs to gain cooperation.
• Position, immobilize, and image patients per department protocols.
• Determine proper radiographic exposure factors.
• Verify informed consent where required.
• Access RIS/PACS and review images.
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide instructions.
• Independently operate equipment for contrast administration and monitoring.
• Select appropriate program per protocol.
