Shift : 3p-11p - MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Altamonte Springs
The role you’ll contribute:
Assists technologists and provides support for the imaging department.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
• Assists technologists in positioning patients for radiology procedures
• Follows radiation/magnetic field safety procedures and guidelines
• Assists with room turnover and restocking of supplies
• Informs patient of their destination. Communicates with Monitor techs and Nursing staff when transporting patients. Identifies patient whereabouts on patient transport logs. Communicates with requesting department of any delays and cancellations
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills for age-specific factors necessary to effectively treat and care for patients of all ages (neonate/infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatrics)
• Ensures equipment is clean and functioning properly before/after each transport
• Demonstrates appropriate use of PPE
• Identifies safety issues, intervenes and notifies supervisor. Operates equipment in a safe manner and adheres to all infection control standards
• May transport pharmaceutical waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area. Employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling pharmaceutical waste) to include proper handling and transport of pharmaceutical waste, and proper selection, use and disposal of personal protective equipment
• Maintains a knowledge and understanding of process improvement initiatives for the department
• Attends all meetings and seminars as instructed by department director/manager
• Escorts/transports patients between clinical areas and verifies patient identities, according to policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR Cert
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Grad or GED
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
• Associate's degree
• One year of technical experience
