About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Imaging Technologist to join our team performing breast imaging. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging while providing patients with a supportive, comfortable experience during what can be a sensitive and stressful process.

This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to all state and federal regulatory standards governing diagnostic imaging.

We welcome applicants from a mammography or CT background. CT technologists experienced in performing contrast-enhanced studies are encouraged to apply, whether or not they have mammography experience. We support technologists in expanding their scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams and/or CT exams in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Position patients accurately to produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing patient discomfort
  • Operate and maintain mammography and/or CT equipment, ensuring proper calibration and quality control in accordance with MQSA and applicable CT regulatory requirements
  • For CT technologists: administer IV contrast media per physician order and established safety protocols, including venipuncture and monitoring for contrast reactions
  • Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and provide reassurance throughout the exam
  • Review images for technical quality and reposition or repeat as necessary to meet diagnostic standards
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic health record
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles to protect patients and staff
  • Participate in routine quality assurance/quality control testing and equipment inspections
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with scheduling, patient flow, and other administrative duties as needed
  • Stay current on continuing education requirements and advances in mammography and/or CT technology

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following qualification paths:

Path 1 — ARRT(R) with MQSA Mammography Qualification

  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R)
  • Active state license as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Documented MQSA mammography qualification, including:
  • Completion of 8 hours of Category A mammography-specific continuing education
  • 25 supervised mammography exams performed under a qualified technologist
  • Must maintain ongoing MQSA requirements once qualified, including minimum exam and continuing education requirements

Path 2 — ARRT(M) Certified

  • Current ARRT certification in Mammography (M)
  • Active state license as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Current CPR/BLS certification

Path 3 — CT Technologist

  • Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Active state license as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Experience performing CT exams with contrast administration

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of clinical experience performing mammography and/or CT, including contrast-enhanced studies
  • Experience with digital mammography and/or 3D tomosynthesis
  • Experience with CT contrast injection systems and protocols
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus
  • Experience working in an OB-GYN or similar health setting
