Job summary

Cochise Oncology is seeking a compassionate Mammography Technologist to join its breast imaging team. You will perform high-quality screening mammography while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality in a supportive environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with radiologists, nurses, and administrative staff, adhering to regulatory standards and department protocols to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography.
  • ARRT certification in Mammography.
  • Current state licensure (if applicable).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient-centered care.
  • One or more years of mammography experience.
  • Experience with digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography).
  • Knowledge of MQSA and ACR quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform screening mammography procedures according to established protocols.
  • Position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality images.
  • Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and provide compassionate care throughout the examination.
  • Verify patient identity, physician orders, and medical history.
  • Operate and maintain mammography equipment while adhering to quality assurance standards.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and infection prevention protocols.
  • Coordinate with customer support for machine maintenance and service.
  • Prepare for and facilitate state inspections.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation activities.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.
