Description

We are currently looking for aFull Time Imaging Support Specialist Supervisor to join our Imaging Support team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.

Summary

Supervises and provides clerical support to the imaging team.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees provider verification before patient is scheduled for an exam
  • Pre-screens patients for implanted devices, and other pertinent health history and provide documentation to the Imaging technologists
  • Schedules referral appointments, prescribed follow-up appointments, cancellations, and routing slips to every patient upon check in for appointments
  • Checks schedules for changes and/or cancellations
  • Checks referrals for appropriateness and contacts referral clinics for changes as needed
  • Updates patient demographics as needed
  • Cross-trains in all modalities
  • Provides receptionist services to the MST desk, as needed
  • Receives and processes orders from CNDH providers as well as referrals from outside providers and clinics
  • Scans patient referrals into computer system and maintains patient referral records
  • Schedules patients in all area modalities and makes appointment reminder phone calls for Imaging Services
  • Instructs the patient or patient's nurse of the required exam preparation for the imaging procedure
  • Surveys patients or patients’ nurse regarding medical history, including possible contraindication to prescribed patient exam
  • Mails out the no‑show and cancellation letters to the referring clinics
  • Files and maintains patient folders by proper patient identification system
  • Participates in gathering statistical information for departmental performance improvement
  • Plans, assigns, supervises and reviews work of clerical staff
  • Coordinates activities with imaging clerks to assure maximum effect, minimize duplication, and enhance better utilization of resources
  • Makes hiring, discipline and promotion decisions for assigned area and authorizes leave
  • Ensures Imaging clerical supply levels are always adequate
  • Manages any issue that arise between support specialists and other modalities and discusses with modality supervisors as necessary
  • Participates in the orientation and training of new support specialists to the organization or site
  • Completes annual appraisals in a timely manner
  • Prepares and monitors statistical and quality improvement reports
  • Coordinates and monitors patient flow to expedite patient's examinations and keep patient turnaround time to a minimum
