Geisinger in Pittston, PA is seeking a Radiology Support Assistant to assist Radiology staff with non-technical and supervised technical support, including patient transport, preparation, specimen transport, and imaging room setup, under technologist supervision.

The role serves patients of all ages and requires a second-year student in a radiology/vascular/echo program, plus a High School Diploma and BLS certification. Clinical environment with benefits for full-time/part-time roles.

Formación

• Must be a second-year student, or first-year student who satisfied all competency requirements, actively attending an accredited educational Radiology technology, vascular, or echo program recognized by the JRC-ARRT, JRC-DMS, or accredited program recognized by the CCAHEP or CMA.

Responsabilidades

• Operates imaging equipment pertaining to specific modality of hire.
• Produces quality imaging studies under supervision until competency is achieved.
• Works under indirect supervision after achieving exam competency.
• Performs post-processing of imaging studies as applicable.
• Prepares patients for exams including MRI Safety Screening (where applicable).
• Maintains imaging equipment.
• Applies ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Ensures patient safety in all aspects of care.
• Uses Radiology Information System effectively.
• Completes and corroborates patient history with procedures for licensed practitioners.
