Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC is seeking an Imaging Student Extern to gain hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced radiology staff. You will prepare patients for imaging, assist with positioning, and help maintain a clean, safe imaging suite while supporting patient comfort and communication throughout procedures.

You will also participate in learning opportunities, adhere to safety and confidentiality standards, and collaborate with technologists and care teams

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Associate Degree

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for imaging by obtaining histories, verifying identities, and assisting with positioning communicating clearly and compassionately
• Safely transport patients between areas, supporting their comfort and emotional needs during procedures
• Set up imaging rooms, manage turnover, and organize supplies to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment
• Serve as a vital connection between patients, technologists, and the care team by communicating needs and concerns promptly
• Take ownership of your growth by participating in learning opportunities and following safety and confidentiality standards
