Job summary

Bronson Healthcare in South Haven is seeking an Imaging Services Associate (PRN/Part-time) for the Radiography department. The role supports patient care, image acquisition, and safety under direct supervision while you advance your radiologic technology training.

You will rotate through imaging areas, greet patients, position them for high-quality images, and help with equipment readiness, with emphasis on professionalism and patient communication.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited radiologic technology program and actively enrolled
• BLS certification current
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interactions with patients, physicians and team members
• Ability to work independently with direct supervision within established guidelines

Responsibilities

• Rotate through multiple areas within the Imaging Department
• Perform routine radiographic procedures under direct supervision once competencies have been passed
• Greet, receive, and escort patients; verify patient information and explain procedures clearly
• Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images under direct supervision
• Prepare immobilization and anti-immobilization devices; apply radiation protection
• Operate radiographic equipment safely per physician orders
• Consult with radiologists as needed to clarify orders or address complex situations
• Ensure proper operation of equipment; report malfunctions or repair needs
• Assist with emergencies, including first aid and reactions to contrast media
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and equipment
• Document patient care and procedure details
• Monitor and maintain appropriate supply levels in assigned areas

Title Imaging Services Associate - PRN Status - Bronson South Haven

This position is intended for second-year Radiography students currently enrolled in an accredited radiologic technology program. Candidates must still be actively enrolled in their program; new graduates and ARRT-registered applicants are not eligible. Employees in this role provide direct patient care and must demonstrate critical thinking and professionalism while continuing to build on foundational skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and team members in sensitive or challenging situations
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, initiative, and assertiveness
• Ability to work independently with direct supervision within established guidelines
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor
• Basic computer proficiency

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Work requires sustained mental and visual concentration, including frequent use of computer systems (40–70% of the time)
• Frequent standing and walking
• Regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and assisting with patient movement and positioning
• Occasional physical strain and repetitive motions
