Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying identity per protocols.
  • Collaborate with technologists to position patients for radiology exams for optimal imaging results.
  • Assist with PACS and EMR documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Adhere to radiation safety procedures to protect patients and staff.
  • Complete post-procedural tasks including discharge coordination, room sanitation, and restocking supplies.
  • Support imaging department inventory and ensure supplies are well stocked.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Join our dynamic imaging department as an Imaging Services Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our skilled technologists. You'll be at the forefront of diagnostic imaging, ensuring patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their procedures while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engage with patients by clearly explaining imaging procedures and providing educational materials that empower them to understand their care journey
  • Safely transport patients to and from clinical areas while verifying patient identity according to established protocols, ensuring a smooth and secure experience
  • Collaborate with technologists to prepare patients for radiology exams, expertly positioning them for optimal imaging results
  • Support technologists with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping
  • Demonstrate commitment to radiation safety by consistently following all safety procedures and guidelines to protect patients and staff
  • Execute post-procedural tasks with attention to detail, including patient discharge coordination, thorough room sanitation, and strategic supply restocking
  • Contribute to inventory control efforts, helping maintain an organized and well‑stocked imaging department
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable
CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. ADDITIONAL PREFERENCES: Some computer knowledge, customer service skills
